Western Red Cedar
Naturally durable, dimensionally stable and low in density — the defining appearance species of the Pacific Northwest. Clear and knotty grades for siding, trim, fascia, soffit, decking and exterior millwork.
SRB Lumber Industries supplies millwork companies, distributors and manufacturers with Western Red Cedar, Hemlock, Hem-Fir and Douglas Fir — backed by direct access to finger jointing, edge gluing and veneering capability.
The Company
SRB Lumber Industries is a Vancouver-based brokerage of engineered wood products. We operate where most brokers cannot — with direct access to manufacturing capability. Finger jointing, edge gluing and veneering sit inside our supply line, not outside it.
That changes the conversation. A specification does not have to be met from whatever a mill happens to have decked. It can be made: to your length, your width, your grade, your cut list.
We work exclusively with volume buyers — millwork companies, distributors and manufacturers who need consistent grade, reliable dimension and a supply line that holds through the season and across the year.
Manufacturing Capability
Value-added processing is what separates a stock list from a specification. These are the capabilities behind every quote we issue — available on coastal cedar, hemlock, Hem-Fir and Douglas Fir.
Short, high-grade fibre machined and bonded into long, stable lengths. Clear appearance runs in lengths that standing timber rarely yields — with dimensional stability that survives the kiln, the container and the shop floor.
Narrow stock laid up into wide panels and blanks. Consistent width without the cost, the waste or the movement of solid wide boards — laid up to your cut list rather than to someone else's stock list.
Premium face over an engineered core. The appearance grade your product is sold on, carried over a substrate specified for cost, weight and stability — the economics of engineered wood with the face of clear coastal softwood.
Species
Naturally durable, dimensionally stable and low in density — the defining appearance species of the Pacific Northwest. Clear and knotty grades for siding, trim, fascia, soffit, decking and exterior millwork.
Fine, even texture with a consistent pale colour that finishes predictably. It machines cleanly and holds detail — the workhorse behind interior millwork, mouldings, jamb stock and joinery programs.
Structural performance and a light, uniform face in a single supply. Straight, strong and stable, it takes stain and paint without surprises — which is why it moves in volume across both framing and appearance programs.
The highest strength-to-weight of the coastal softwoods, with tight vertical grain available on select runs. Specified for timbers, beams, structural laminations, industrial components and heavy appearance work.
Every load leaves as a reference for the next one.
Who We Supply
Program supply for door, window, moulding and joinery producers. Specified lengths, widths and grades run to your cut list — including finger jointed and edge glued stock made to drawing.
Straight and mixed loads into yards and distribution centres. The value is consistency: the same grade, the same face and the same tally, shipment after shipment.
Component supply into furniture, cabinetry, prefabrication and industrial production. Blanks, panels, laminations and dimension delivered to specification rather than to a stock list.
